Breast Cancer Speaker
Yearly mammograms saved Diana’s life. “Early Detection equals Prevention’ has always been her mantra. Diana’s surgery was performed by Surgeon, Dr. Kristi Funk of The Pink Lotus Center in Beverly Hills and Dr. Jay Orringer, reconstructive plastic surgeon located in Beverly Hills as well.
Diana shares her thoughts and personal story as no one else can. Within the first four months following her mastectomy Diana was innocently using a heating pad to comfort herself and fell asleep. The high heat from the heating pad burned a hole in her reconstruction almost to the implant. Unable to save it, Diana called on her inner strength to pull her through four more operations following the mastectomy and reconstruction she had only months earlier. Today, they look even better! A miracle!
Diana has been a favorite speaker at many Race for the Cure luncheons and awareness events over the years. Her many years of experience as a stand-up comedienne shines through as she delivers a heart-felt message about early detection and taking responsibility for your own health.
She has everyone in stitches as she shares her message and many journeys – some of her ‘Oops’ moments working with Tom Cruise in the hit movie, “Jerry Maguire,” and an ‘Oopsrah’ moment on the Oprah Winfrey show to what it was like to date Robin Williams. In the end, the audience is left with laughter and a more positive way to successfully deal with difficult problems and situations in the in their life, in the workplace and at home.
